Michael, I have not been able to find any record of William Pinkney MUSSELWHITE (MUSSELLWHITE, MUSLEWHITE, MUSCLEWHITE, MESSERWHITE, M'WHITE, M.WHITE OR JUST PLAIN WHITE) being in the Civil War. William Pinkney MUSSELWHITE b abt 1837 in NC mar ? THOMPSON. Leonard Alexander MUSSELWHITE, b abt 1809 supposedly moved to Mississippi abt 1820, m 14 Nov 1831 to Nancy BARFIELD, was in the Wilmington District, NC Militia. Alexander's father, Thomas MUSSELWHITE, b 1740 d 1813(may be a Jr) was supposedly Captain Thomas WHITE, 6th C Reg - Rev. War, Soldier War of 1812 - Militia NC 4th Reg, and signed the Cumberland Assn Pact. Thomas MUSSELWHITE (WHITE) Jr's f, Thomas MUSSELWHITE m Mary LEVIT, dau of William LEVIT of Messing, Essex who d 1685. I have not looked through all of my records regarding this ancestor, but I don't think I have proven any of the above as facts. Most of this information was taken from "MUSSELWHITES AND ALLIED FAMILIES", Tracing to Thomas and Mary Musselwhite, compiled by Kate Britt Biggs for the Musselwhite Clan, Place of Annual Meeting: Barker-Ten Mile School, Robeson County, N.C. Although there are several names, dates and locations, the information is not that easy to decipher, but maybe it will help you. E-mail me at leslieadams@starband.net if you want a copy of some of the info I have. I would like a copy of whatever you have. Kate Musselwhite m Charles Mike Windham, my g-gp, and both are buried in cemetery next to my gparents in McGehee Ark.
