Mosser Family from Center Co. who now spell the name Musser

Michael Mosser, son of Philip, also spelled Moser, and whose decendants now spell the name Musser, the family Bible state, was "ein son das Michael Mosser von Lecha County". The lattter was a son of Burkhard Mosser, Jr. The 2nd Michael Mosser, in the latter half of the 18c, settled in Center Co., where he passed away in 1859. He was married twice, having by his first wife children; George and Jonathan, Mrs. Betsy Kepler, Mrs. George Haring and Mrs. John Confer. The 1st 4 named remaied in Gregg township, but Mrs. Confer went with her husband to IL

George Moser was born July 7, 1804, died 2 Feb 1846. His wife was the daughter of Philip and Elizabeth (Ilgen) Moser. She was born in 1811 and died 1846. Children, Rosetta married Hon. John W.Krumrine, of State College, Elias died in Gregg Township, Emanuel born 1834, Mrs. Rebecca Wolf, who died at Logansville, in 1883, Maria, w/o Henrich Gramely (Kramlich) of Iowas, George M. died a child, William H.H. of ND, Elizabeth w/o Isaac Gates of IL

Sebastin Mosser, son of Michael Sr. and brother to Michael Jr, was born in Lynn twp, Northampton Co (now Lehigh) Jan 3, 1760. He married Anna Maria Miller. He settled at Penn's Valley, Center Co, with his brother Michael. His descendants go under the name Musser. Sebastian Mosser was a farmer and a pioneer settler of this disctrict. They had only one child, Philip B., who was born in Lynn twp, Aug 17, 1785, a few years before the family settled in Center countyl He was a Lutheran and he srv as a JPl In 1806 he married in Center county, to Elizabeth Ilgen, who was born Aug 26, 1790. She was the d/o Rev. Ludwig A. Ilgen.

Philip Mosser and wf had children, John Sebastian, 1808 a minster (Evangeical) died in Penn twp. Center Co., 1887, Ludwig A.w. 1810, died at Milheim 1889, Marie 18811 married George Musser, died in Gregg twp. John Philip 1813 died in infancy, Philip A., 1816 died in Penn twp, Anna B., 1818 married John Hubler, died in Bush Valley, John G., 1821, Daniel a. 1822, died 1888 married Lydia Shreffler, a native of mifflinburg and had children, Mari C., 1826 married Thomas Frank, Lydia E., 1828, John F. Ilgen 1930, Sarah C., married Frederick atherman, was born 133 and James J., 1834, and lives at artleton, Union Co.
