The November 2007 issue of ANTIQUES magazine in an advertisement on page 52 pictures 5 individual portraits of George Musser, his wife Elizabeth (Sweitzer) Musser, and their 3 children: Sarah (b. 22 May 1822), Edward (b. 23 Nov. 1823), and Carolina (b. 13 Oct. 1825), all of Reamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The portraits were painted on 23 October 1826 and are attributed to the great folk artist Jacob Maentel. These superb portraits should be made known to the Musser & Sweitzer families. They are too good not to be known. I have scanned this pager and will be happy to email it to Musser and Sweitzer family researchers. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please contact me directly at this email address rather than post a reply here, which I might not see. If they were portraits of a 19th century Pease family, I'd certainly hope someone would do the same for me.
