I'm looking for any info about J. Christian MAYER or MYER who lived in Wilmington, New Castle Co, Delaware in 1860-1870.

Christian was born about 1832 in Wurtemburg, Germany. His occupation was Butcher. On the 1860 census of New Castle County, Delaware, he was listed as J. Christian MYER. He and his wife, Magdalena (b. abt. 1835 in Germany) had two sons, William b. abt 1857 & George b. abt. November 1859. Both children were born in Delaware.

In 1870 on the New Castle County, Delaware census he was listed as Christian MAYER. He was still married to Magdalena and their children were listed as George, Henry (b. abt. 1867) and Christina (b. abt. 1868). Also living in their home was a Jacob MAYER b. abt 1847, an Alfred DUTLING who was an apprentice butcher, and three ZIMMERMAN children; Clara age 22, Anna age 12 and George age 9.

I believe these ZIMMERMAN children belonged to Michael and Anna Maria ZIMMERMAN who were in New Castle County in 1860.

I am trying to find out if Magdalena MAYER/MYER was a ZIMMERMAN by birth or if Anna Maria ZIMMERMAN might have been a MAYER/MYER.

Thank you!
