Thank you so much for responding.
My grandpa John Benjamin Nace is supposed to have come to America from Hamberg, Germany. I don't know if he was actually born there or if he was born after his parents arrived here. He did go by Ben.
His son Quincy Llewellyn Nace was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1870. 1895 would have put Ben at about 45 years old or so. We don't know his date of birth.
Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. We have hit a brick wall with Ben.
We have been told by my grandma that a cousin actually found the name John Benjamin Nace on the list of names at Ellis Island. I would love to get my hands on a picture of it.
