If you "google" Jeremiah Nagle there are several citations. A Captain Jeremiah Nagle died in Victoria BC Canada 5 Jan 1882, buried in historic Ross Bay Cemetery, born in Cork, Ireland, was Victoria's harbour master, etc., captain of "Commodore" which brought black people from San Francisco to Salt Spring Island BC.
