Swiss Soldiers at Waterloo (?)

I am seeking a Josef (Joseph) Heggli (Hageli), born circa 1764 who claimed to fight with Napolean's troops. He was Swiss, maybe from Canton Lucerne or Canton Soleure?

How can one go about looking up soldiers at that time who fought for the French? And, are there separate records for foregners or Swiss, in particular?

Any suggestions would be geatly appreciated.

John
