I found a "KATZBERG, Jean" in the list of Prussian military men who died at Trier: http://www.genealogienetz.de/vereine/wgff/trier/Veroeffentlichungen/Artikel/Schlesische_Armee_1814.pdf I have a few questions: 1. Many of the men's given names are in French. Can someone give me the historic backgound of this? Had they been conscripted into the French forces? 2. The document lists Gogola as being in Silesia. The only Gogola I found in a google search was a street in Riga, Latvia. Does anyone have any information on a Silesian Gogola? 3. Did the French forces hold Trier in 1813? Thank you!
