Hi Ralph, A Private William Henderson is shown on the Waterloo Roll as being in Captain Robert MacKay's No4 Company of the 79th Cameron Highlanders at Waterloo. Deployed in the redoubtable Sir Thomas Picton's Division the 79th suffered 31 Killed and 143 wounded out of a strength of just 445. However, the Regimental muster roll does not give William as a casualty. Cross checking against the Military General Service Medal Roll shows no William Henderson. This indicates either he did not serve in the Peninsular, or was not alive in 1847 to claim it. Hope this helps David Notify Administrator about this message?
