Here is what I know: William Goodman's father served in the Nepoleon army when they invaded Russia. His father died during the invasion. I think it was the one where all of the troops died. I also know that William and his mother lived in France before this happen and then moved over the border to Germany. I found this in a book at the library. If I need to I will go look it up again so I can give you the name of the city they lived in. Also William was a baby when his father died and he was born in 1804.
