I am searching for any information on my "Lee" family ancestors who were from the Beaufort, Pamlico, Martin, Craven & Washington County areas of N.C.
My grandfather was Robert Edward Lee, was born c.1880-4 in either Beaufort or Pamlico County, N.C. He died in 1951 in or near Bayboro, N.C. and is buried in New Bern Memorial Gardens Cemetery in New Bern, N.C. His obituary says that his parents were Noah & Alice(?) Lee of Beaufort Co., NC
My grandmother was Pollyanna Virginia (Jennie) Ellis Lee, was born c. 1879-1881 near Jamesville, Martin Co. N.C. and died in 1949 in or near Bayboro, N.C. and is buried in New Bern Memorial Gardens Cemetery in New Bern, N.C.
My grandparents were married 25 Nov., 1903 at a Mrs. Braddy’s home in or near Washington, N.C. A Benjamin Braddy applied for their marriage license. They were married by A Rev. Nathaniel Harding.
I have been unable to connect my grandfather to any known Noah Lee in these counties. I think that there
Is possibly a connection shown in the 1910 Beaufort County, N.C. (Long Acre) census which lists the following Lee families:
residence # 308 310 Lee, Edward, head, wm, 24, farming
Lee, Robert, brother, wm, 29, farm laborer
Lee, Virginia, sis-in-law, wf, 31
Lee, Alice E, niece, w/f, 5
Lee, Dewey R, nephew, w/m, 10
Lee, Lillie B, niece, w/f, 3
There is also listed at this residence a Wealthy Braddy, w/f, 73, aunt; and three boarders.
(I believe that the Robert, Virginia, Alice, Dewey & Lillie listed above with Edward Lee to be my grandparents & 3 of their children).
This census also lists a close neighbor who I believe is a brother to Edward Lee & Robert Lee-

Lee, William H., Head, w/m, 22, farming
Lee, Lillie G, wife, w/f, 22
this census also lists Noah Lee as follows:
residence # 278 280
Lee, Noah, head, w/m, 64, farming
Lee, Teretha S, wife, w/f, 58
Lee, James R, son, w/m, 19
My father was - Asa (Acy) Robert Lee, born Oct, 1914 near Plymouth - Jamesville areas and died on 01 Dec, 1971. He married, 1st- Nellie Brinson of Pamlico Co., 2nd- my mother, Mary E. Sluder of the Leicester area of Buncombe Co, N.C.
My fathers brothers & sisters are as follows: Alice Lee who married a Samuel Leroy (Lee) Squires,
Randall Lee, married ?, John P. Lee, married an Italian woman from Philadelphia, Pa., Rosa Pearl Lee who married first a Melvin Dixon then a Malton Knowles, Lillian Lee who married first a Henry C. Sawyer then a Francis Michlowski, and Rhoda (Rhodie) Mae Lee who married a Thad Mclawhorn from the Ayden area Of Pitt County.
