Hi John,

I have checked six different will books on Beaufort County and do not find a Rigby/Rigbie (of any spelling). The closest I found was "Rigney". The names listed under this were Elizabeth, Hannah and James. These books covered from 1720 to 1874.

I did find a Rigby in another book of wills. It was a William Rigby, merchant. Dated Dec. 18, 1743, Wilmington, New Hanover County, NC. If this is of interest, let me know.

Sorry I couldn't be of help with your Richard. Good luck with your research.

Judy
