State of North Carolina Brunswick County Know all men by these presents that we, STEPHEN WILLIAMS, BENJAMIN WILLIAMS AND LUKE WHITE are held and are firmly bound unto his Excellency Nathaniel Alexander Esq. Governor, Captain, General & Commander in chief in & over the state aforesaid in the just and full sum of five hundred ________ current money of said state to be paid to his Excellency aforesaid his successors in office or assigns to the which payment will __________ to be made and we _____ bound ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by the presence seal with our seals and dated this thirteenth day of June 1808. The condition of the obligation is such that whereas the above bounden STEPHEN WILLIAMS hasth made application for a license for a marriage to be celebrated between him and MARY(Mary was lined through) POLLY WHITE of the county aforesaid. Now in case it shall not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
