1964 Murder in Brunswick Co., North Carolina

I am trying to find any information regarding a murder at occured in Brunswick Co., North Carolina sometime before June 22, 1964. The people involved were my uncle, Walter Ray Wyatt, my aunt, Luna Slack Adams Wyatt and their two grandchildren, Dolores Adams and Lena Adams.

From what I have read in the June 22, 1964 edition of the High Point Enterprise, Walter shot Luna while she was sleeping with a 22 caliber automatic rifle. Dolores was also injuried and survived, but was hospitalized in Shallotte. The other granddaughter, Lena Adams was also in the cottage, but was not injured in the attack.

Aunt Luna was Uncle Walter's second wife and they got along very well. Uncle Walter's first wife died several years before and Luna married him in 1960. Luna's first husband died in 1955. Friends and kin said there was no known fights between the couple.

Dolores Adams, 16 years old, remained a patient at the time this article was written in a hospital in Cape Fear. She was listed in serious condition and survived a gunshot bullett to her liver.

Aunt Luna died when a bullett raged into her heart but moved into her head.

Can anybody assist me in finding anything about this couple? Court records, funeral records, etc.?
