Susan,
I have both a John Erwin Brown and a Jane Erwin. Jane was married to William G.W. Brown around 1762. They had 8 children, one of whom was John Erwin Brown. I am tied into both Erwin and Brown lines of Rowan Co. NC. Wm's father was Thomas Brown and his wife was Elizabeth Thompson. That info was supplied by others from the book, "Some Descendents of William Brown of Norwood's Creek of the Catawba River." Donnadean D. DuPew 1990. Would share any info.
