My ancestor, William Perryman (1759-1854), lived in Burke County during the 18th century. William was born in Charles County, Maryland. William died in Russell County, Kentucky. William married Ann Stokes in 1782, Caswell County, North Carolina. Ann Stokes Perryman (before 1762-after 1829) was possibly born in Virginia. Ann died in Russell County, Kentucky. William is the apparent son of John Perryman and Mary Hays Perryman. William was militarily engaged during the War of the American Revolution. Ann is the daughter of Silvanus Stokes. Ann was known as "Nancy". From Burke County, the William Perryman family moved to Adair County, Kentucky probably during the very early 19th century.
Sarah Perryman Grider (ca. 1787-ca. 1884), my ancestor, is the daughter of William Perryman and Ann Stokes Perryman. Sarah was the second wife of Frederick Grider (ca. 1781-1853). Frederick was born in proximity of Gunpowder Creek in Burke County. Frederick died in Russell County, Kentucky. Frederick's first wife is also the daughter of William Perryman and Ann Stokes Perryman.
It will be a distinct pleasure to communicate especially with descendants of William Perryman and Ann Stoke Perryman regarding the genealogy of our ancestral families.
Many of the early Burke County records are not available. It is my ardent desire especially for descendants of William Perryman and Ann Stokes Perryman to communciate with me.
