Connie,
Thanks once again. I really appreciate your time on this. It means more than you know. I just have one more question for you. Do you know why it says "private" on the line where William Frank Earnhardt Jr. is listed being born to William Frank Earnhardt and Mary Ellen Hargett?? Just wondering because this would be my husband's father. He is also deceased now. We don't have anyone to ask questions of now, and we are trying to answer some questions that have been in the family "closet" for years. My husband's grandmother, Mary Ellen, is also deceased, and she and William Frank Earnhardt Sr. split up shortly after Frank Jr. was born. Were they ever actually married? Can you find that info. on ancestry? She later married several other times, and at one point, Frank Jr. changed his name to "Brown". I'm not sure if it was an official adoption by the stepfather, or if he just started calling himself that. He changed it back to Earnhardt, later in his life, and now we are just wondering where everything origionated, and with who. You have already given me some much needed info. If you could find out about marriages, and Mary Ellen's legal attachments, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again..............Stacye
