Hello all, First, I going to post this to the Cabarrus Mailing list, the Cabarrus message board and the other Cabarrus forum, so please forgive me if you get diplicates - some are connected to each other. I have been spending some serious time back on this LITTLETON line that was in the Cabarrus area from about 1800 to 1840. It appears that all of this line (along with the Fords, Carlocks and a couple Corzines) were in Sumner Co, TN by 1850 (then a lot went on to Union Co, IL) because there are NO LITTLETON's left in Cabarrus on the 1850 census. There are quite a few in Sumner Co, TN in 1850 BUT I have not found anything that shows their relationship to one another. Here are the LITTLETON's from the early Cabarrus census listings: 1820 NC, Cabarrus County, pg 147; Thomas Littleton, 121110-20100-02 1830 NC, Cabarrus County, Capt Alexanders Co, pg 175; John Littleton, 0000101-00001 1830 NC, Cabarrus County, Capt Alexanders Co, pg 176; Thos Littleton, 11100001-111101 1840 NC, Cabarrus County, pg 33; Jacob Littleton, 01011-20001 1840 NC, Cabarrus County, pg 33; Thomas Littleton, 01000001-111101 1840 NC, Cabarrus County, pg 47; James Littleton, 100010001-010100001 What I'm having trouble with is finding actual information that might connect some of these people together or name the male sons of some of these people. Quite a few of these early LITTLETON's (and their supposed children) are listed on the internet but with various information about them and a lot doesn't make sense. Two different fathers listed for the same person, different brothers and sisters, etc. I don't know where people have found the information they have posted because I haven't been able to find anything in print that connects people or even backs up the erroneous info out there. So I'm asking if anyone on here has access to real documentation that might suggest family ties between these Littletons. I would especially love to see something from a Cabarrus History that says who this Thomas Littleton is that appears on the 1820-1840 census. An example of my problem would be 3 male LITTLETON's on the same census page on 1850 TN and all born within say a 8-10 year period in NC - so are they brothers??? PLEASE - to save time, I already have the many marriages and most birth and marriage dates. Most didn't stay and die in the Cabarrus area, so there probably aren't wills and death notices or obits that would help but IF they were pre-1850 - they would indeed be worth looking at. What I NEED is anything that will connect one male to another. For example: pre-1850 LITTLETON burial, a will or a land transaction between father and son, etc. Or a County history quote that says xxx Littleton and his sons, x,x,x lived in the xxxxxx area until they left for TN in 184x. I guess I'm just looking for some written history that says who the sons or father of these people might be. ANY help is really, really appreciated.
