J.S.
One of the descendants of Joel Helton recently tested their Helton DNA by using the Y search of Family Tree DNA testing in Houston TX. It came back an exact match for many other Heltons now scattered throughout the United States. The Solomon Helton, Ruth Lippard NC line is one of the latest matches with all of the other Native American Heltons. The Helton DNA site now has about 12 who have tested Native American and could locate hundreds of male descendants with the same DNA. We are trying hard to get all of the different Helton/ Hilton lines to test.

You could do a different kind of test but from what I have heard it is more expensive. It is easier to check the Male Y Chromosone with a Helton surname. Your chances of a match is much higher that way. I have heard you are a good researcher from some other Helton's in Caldwell.

Mike
