We have posted a sampling of all of the different Hilton and Helton Cherokee applications on the Helton Family Gen Forum. It makes for some good reading. The DNA testing is going good too. One of the latest tools is the www.Footnote.com and there were several Hilton / Heltons listed on it. You will find the record of Lucinda Mabe wife of John Mabe or Maib in Stokes county and the pension applications of your great Uncles or Grand pa Peter and Abraham Hilton too. These are you kinfolks. Lucy mentions a Jacob that fought but we can't find him. William Hilton was killed and left to his heir Daniel Hilton 2,560 acres in TN while serving in the Continetal army. This grant was given in 1783. Is he ours? We still have lots of research on this Native American family with ties into the Cherokee Nation.
We are having our Helton reunion on the 27th of Sept in East TN and then coming to the one in Hickory with the Solomon Hilton and Ruth Lippard line. Yep, we matched the Hilton's of Caldwell and the ones in Hickory through the DNA project. God bless you all. Cousin Mike
