Sorry about the losses with your families. Our prayers and blessings will be with you. We have been wanting to visit with you for a long time. I don't know where Joel is buried. Richard Helton formerly of Lenoir might. I will e mail him and see. We have a pretty good group of researchers now and have found lots of Cherokee Documentation. We have worked on the line on back to the original Hilton that was a full blood. The only hitch is figuring the tie to Beecham Haltom who was recorded in some of the Moravian Documents. Of course there are thousands of stories to fill into the skeleton of the family tree. We truly have just begun.
I have posted the Civil War Confederate soldiers and am trying to figure out which ones are ours. There are some good hints of them being born in Caldwell and moving to Catawba. Then there are lots of the Cherokee applications on the Helton Family Gen Forum. Please check it out. I have posted a lot of information just to try to help other researchers out. Whether it was our line or not. E mail me direct at rchoutmin@aol.com Welcome Back !!! We have missed you. Blessings this Christmas season.
Mike
P.s. The address and link for the DNA project is on the Helton Family Gen Forum also.
