Joel, your message is old byt I hope this reaches you. Cassandra Dixon was the granddaughter of Willoughby Prescott of Hadnot Creek in Carteret County. She is listed in both his will and his Revoluationary War pension application. Her mother was Mary "Polly" Prescott and her father was Sheperman Dixon of Carteret County. As a result of her father dying when she was very young and her mother remarrying, Cassie grew up in the household of her grandfather Willoughby Prescott and his wife Mary Weeks. The Prescott family reunion is Sunday, October 5, 11:30 a.m., at the old Hadnot Creek Primitive Baptist Church on Old Church Road which is a loop road off of Highway 58 just a few miles west of Cape Carteret.
