I am searching for information on my gr.gr.gr. grandmother Johanna Whitaker, I know the Whitakers were from NC, but what part of NC? Johanna was born about 1803 and was married to Josiah Stallings. Many of their descendants became Baptist Ministers. They lived in Heard and Carroll county, Ga. Johanna was the daughter of Jordan John Whitaker and Catherine Brown, Jordan John was the son of Hudson Whitaker and Susan Thomas. He was a Revolutionary war veteran. Another researcher told me that they were connected to the Whitakers of Cherokee county, NC. If any one knows any thing about these people, I would like to hear from you.
