When I posted this info I was primarily interested in William Ledbetter. I do not know which group of Ledbetters he belongs with. He is not listed in Ledbetter books such as LEDBETTERS FROM VIRGINIA and LEDBETTERS REVISITED. I was also a little interested in the George Smith of this deed info. I have noticed that where Ledbetters are found that Smiths often also appear. Back in ye olde England Ledbetters & Smiths shared the same heraldry designs.

I have collected some Braswell info because one of my Smith ancestors lived next door to Cullen Braswell in Union Co. NC and they are buried in the same small cemetery there. This Cullen Braswell was the son of Richard Braswell who was born about 1755 possibly in Edgecombe Co. NC - wife was Penelope Blow. They died in Anson Co. NC.

I have noticed lots of McKinney folks in the area of Wayne Co. NC.
