I just noticed a Smith/Braswell connection for the first time in my line with William W. Braswell born 1801 SC in documents in Walton County GA being a Grantor to Jonathan Smith 10-27-1834 on a land document.

Then another listing for William W Braswell and Pamella (or Permelia) Ann dated same day 10-27-1834 for Jonathan Smith.

I have William's older brother David Braswell born 1799 SC in Walton County GA 1-29-1831 as Grantor on land document to David Smith.

Then 1835 November 3 and I have in a notation HARD TO READ Permalia Ann Braswell leaves estate to Jonathan Smith, Leonard Hays and Charity Smith with witnesses of Elijah Adams, William Turner and William Brantly.

These are all hand written notes, but I can obtain originals. I was just running out of time in Walton County land and court records and had to get on the road that day to pick kids up from school.

That's all I have for a Smith/Braswell connection and I haven't even come across the name Ledbetter, but I haven't gotten very far back in the line into NC Braswells yet.

Kay
