Hi Diane,
I too, am looking for African/Native ancestry info in
Edenton, Chowan, NC.
In my research, the ALSTON surname connects to my WEEDENS,
WHILDENS,WEELDONS,WHELDONS,WILDONS,WILDENS, BUT, I have yet to hear from anyone who claims kinship to my line.
Are there any genealogists in that area who might be interested in pursuing AA history?
