Hi Faye, Please forgive me the lengthy reply!! I must admit, I am bogged down so that the wheels of my mind have stopped working. I knew Herbert O and Cyrus Neapolitan Wynne and that they were from Havelock, Craven County, NC. I found them easily on the 1900 Census. I found death records for William Y (The "Y" was listed by ever which way-different on ever census) and Laura Pate Wynne......Laura Pate, takes my mind to ...... 1870 Craven County Census -108-114 George Pate age 40 b. NC Sarah W age 47 b. 1823 VA -115 Wm J Cavenaugh age 20 Mary E age 17 b. NC Stephen L age 15 b. NC Caleb J WINN age 12 b. 1857-58 NC William Y WINN age 10 b. 1859-60 NC -- right age for William Y This fits fine with .................... 1880 CRAVEN COUNTY, NC Dist 1 - June 4, 1880 - WYNNE, C J (?) 22 :W Y 20 brother - both farmers. All births NC 1900 William was listed as Wyanet Wynne, August 1860 39 M-1: Laura May 1864 36, M-1 5-5: Walter May 1888 12: Herbert May 1890 10: Cyrus N July 1894 6: Etta March 1898: Phillip April 1990 6 mo. 1920 CRAVEN COUNTY, NC CENSUS - Township 6: June 18, 1920 - #47- WYNNE,William Y 58 farmer - NC Father VA.-Mother NC: Laura C 61 all NC: Rosa L 17 all NC 1930 CRAVEN COUNTY, NC CENSUS - Township 6: WYNNE:Yerrow 73: Laura 71: Rosa 26 Teacher Public Schools Children of William and Laura Pate Wynne were: WALTER F, HERBERT O, CYRUS (aka CYE), ETTA, RAYMOND O (PHILLIP) and ROSA LEE............. The DC info-- William Y Wynne died March 19, 1932 - Wife is Laura C Wynne (d/b August 14)--Father- William Wynne - Mother- Unknown (This really shocked me when I first began to see it -- several years ago. But I understand that even if Knew the name - under the circumstances of the moment, You just can not think clearly.) The informant was C N Wynne - Burial place has only Havelock, NC , March 21, 1932. The undertaker was W H Bally?? maybe should be Ball - New Port, NC Filed March 22, 1932 by Thomas E Haywood. The Doctor was Manly Mason, New Port. I had been thinking the William H and Elizabeth Wynne (1860)were the parents of William Y BUT the age of this "William" is 11 years old and s/b 1 or less. I hope this rambling might bring a bright spark to your mind. I thank you fro the census records pre 1850. I had not looked at that at all until I could feel sure about William Y's parents. I thought the DC would clear it up but no way.... Thank you so much for responding to my plea for help! Helen Notify Administrator about this message?
