Robert DAUGHERTY b. 1810-1811 prob. in Craven, enum. 1850 in Creaven with wife Betsy, who might be his second, enum. 1860 again in Craven, widow enum. 1870 and 1880 with grown children. Children: John, Cullen, Catherine, Haywood, Oliver, George (d.y.), Oliver, Frances, Robert F., Sarah F.

Robert should be found in 1840 but is not. I suspect he is the son of Ephraim DAUGHTY [sic] enum. 1830 in Craven. The Craven line is distinct from Lenoir and goes back to at least 1769.
