Aaron Smith family abt 1745

I am looking for information about my g'sfather Aaron Smith. He may have been living in Craven County as early as 1740 but was for sure in 1745, living on the south side of Mitchell's Creek (or Michael's Creek?) on the S side of hte Neuse River. He had a land grant in 1749 of 200 acres on the Neuse River at the mount of Carraway Creek. He also bought land along the Pee Dee River.

I would appreciate any clues, hints, pointers, or just plain old information that anyone can supply.
