I am searching for any information regarding the family of Charity Gibbs, daughter of Captain Joseph Gibbs & wife, Elizabeth Tolston (Tolson). It is thought that Charity may have been born in Hyde County and the family may have migrated to Craven County. Charity was born around 1810. Joseph Gibbs was the son of Henry Gibbs and the grandson of Henry Gibbs. Charity married William Cox, had six children, died in Pitt County and was buried on the William & Charity Cox farm in Pitt County in the old Johnson Mill Community about a mile from St. Johns Episcopal Church.
