I'm glad to hear that your cousin Mary Ellen was instrumental in the cenotaph. I really regret that I only found out about it after the fact and so was unable to be there. I hope to travel to SC sometime this year to see it first hand and look around the area, perhaps visit 96. Thanks also for the info on Ezekiel Smith's move to GA. I did not have that info. You say that Aaron was born on the coast on the border of SC and VA - where did you get this information? Do you have any documentation? Was this also from Anita Quarles? I did correspond with her a couple of times but got no clues as to documentation. I will try to get Calista Vern Leonard's book. Also, I will send you the information about the plat of Ezekiel Smith's land. It shows pretty much everyone in that area and it is interesting to see the positions of the parcels now connected with names. I recently moved to another house and it might take me a few days to uncover that paperwork. Be patient, please. I also have a few other tidbits that you may not have seen such as a copy of the newspaper article in the Philadelphia paper about the massacre. Oddly enough, it is dated the day after. Quick work, I would say, for those times. Your clue about the man collecting white clay was a big one for me. I followed that up and it proved very interesting. Thanks.
