This is very interesting. The timeframe is right for this to have been the Patrick White who was brought to this country by Major Thomas Lambert in 1648. Patrick acquired a good deal of land on Knotts Island. The Virginia - North Carolina border ran through his property.

This will require a lot more research to determine what happened to the Patrick White of the 1908 letter and determine if he settled in this country.

Nothing can be determined from the names of Patrick White's (of Knotts Island) sons. It appears that he only had two sons, Solomon and Patrick. When I can get to the library and do more research on this, I will let you know if I can find any connection.
