Hilma,

Hmmm, south Florida, I have seen both coasts as a kid since the late 40s. A lot has changed. I remember seeing the ocean most of the way between Miami and Palm Beach, now it is all condos... The west coast, well it was all open land.
I still have family in Palm Beach County.

Back to things, most of the 42 CAT library copies of A line of Marked Trees will be a reference book and NOT loanable...

Suggest you do a http://www.worldcatlibraries.org search and see what there is. I did it and found:

Two S. FL Libraries and they only have a ref cy:

- Tampa, Hillsborough County Public Library Coop Catalog
- Orange County Library Syst - Orlando, FL

Most times if you talk with the librarian in your town that is responsible for interlibrary loans something can be worked out.

1. They send the book for in library use only
2. (More likely) the will copy the title, index and pages with Smith references for you. (Usually 20 pgs no cost)

I have even called a librarian that had a ref. book, asked her to look at the book, (they saw it was +10 years since they purchased it and it had Never been opened. They agreed to loan the book when they received the ILL request from my library.

Either way you should be able to work things out and get some info. Try this on 1-3 books at a time and the librarians at both ends will normally help out.

FYI, I have been to Raleigh (NC Archives & Lib) 1.5 days, needed more - GREAT EARLIER INFO.

Elizabeth City, Camden & Currituck - 2.5 days - needed more
Hope to go back.

Good Luck

Roger
