Dare County did not exist in 1860, Dare did not become a county until 1870. I did an Ancestry search for Richard Young Allen and the only one I found was a family in Capps Creek, Barry, MO. This family was from NC with ALL of the children having been born in NC including the 2 year old.
Thomas Allen age 45
Maginca Allen age 43
Elysebeth Allen age 16
Leweasy Allen age 14
Thomas M. Allen age 11
John H. Allen age 9
Richard Y. Allen age 6
Lee J. Allen age 4
Margartt Allen age 2
also living in the home is a William Caraso age 42 from Italy.
These names are spelled exactly as found on the census. I hope this helps!!!!
