Tammy I can't thank you enough for your help. This is very important to me. I am trying to follow this family back in time, I believe they are in the 1850 census, living in Surry County, NC - Index to Online Census Images; South Division http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/surry/census/1850 pages 60a - 267b, The South Division Fam # Surname Given Name Page # (file name) 824 Allen Louisa J 217a 824 Allen Majincy 217a 824 Allen Mary E 217a 824 Allen Thomas 217a 824 Allen Thomas M 217a I am guessing this is the same family. Do you know of any way I can find this same family in the 1840 census, and how to track down this Thomas Allen (age 45 in 1860) and his parents? I have tried many avenues and seem to find some Thomas Allen in Beaufort County, NC around in the early 1800s. My objective is to make the connection between this Thomas Allen with the line of Young/Allens in NC in the 1700s. My Great grandfather was Richard Young Allen, and the name Young appears throughout NC in the 1700s. Any ideas you have that might help my search will be most appreciated.
