Hello.
I'm looking for the parents of my ancestor, John Bunyan (J.B.) Smith. His obit says he was born in Jackson Hill, NC in the southern part of Davidson Co. His mother died when he was 2 yrs old, and his father died when he was 4 yrs old, leaving him an orphan. He was born on or about 02 Feb 1853. It is likely he that shows up in the 1860 census with an older couple named Addeston (grandparents?), with a younger Smith named Mary C (a sister? C for Catherine?). He later went on to live and work in Lexington, NC. He owned and operated a pharmacy in town. A postcard shows him in front of his store and the title is "The J.B. Smith Block". It was located across from the court house. J.B. married Fannie (Frances?) Sowers, sister of Pearl Sowers who married a Moffitt (Joseph Vestal?). Smith daughters married Grimes and Craven, among others. My ancestor is J.B. and Fannie's daughter, Jessie Irene. Sisters of Jessie Irene were Johnsie, Madge, Kathleen, etc. If anyone recognizes these names, please let me know. Thanks.
