Looking for information on Jesse Gallimore (possible son of Elisha Gallimore) and his family.
KNOWN FACTS:
Jesse was born 1806 and died on 28 January 1876, at age 70. At one time he worked as a School Teacher, probably in Davidson County where he and family lived.
Jesse married Ruth Wright (daughter of Richard Wright, Jr. and Cary Kittrell Wright) on 13 November 1828 in Davidson Co. NC. Ruth was born on 1 March 1810 in Emmons Twp, Davidson Co. NC and died on 20 September 1912, at age 102.
Children from this marriage were:
i. Celia Ann Gallimore was born on 11 November 1831 in Davidson Co. NC and died on 28 June 1931 in Davidson City, Mecklenburg Co. NC, at age 99. Celia married John Morgan Primm on 23 August 1854 in Davidson Co. NC.
ii. Margaret E. Gallimore was born circa 1834.
iii. Nelson W. Gallimore was born circa 1836.
iv. Wilson W. Gallimore was born circa 1838.
v. William F. Gallimore was born circa 1844.
vi. Caroline 'Lina' Gallimore was born circa 1846.
vii. Sarah J. Gallimore was born circa 1850.
viii. Unknown Gallimore son. This son is shown in the 1830 and 1840 census, before names of children and spouses were shown. He does not appear in the 1850 census with the family unit. It is presumed that he had probably married by that time.
ix. Unknown Gallimore daughter. This daughter has been shown as 'Mary (or Mary Ann) Gallimore' by some researchers; however, no census from 1830-1860 has been found that could be associated with her birth.
Based on a news article in The Dispatch newspaper in 1911 Davidson County celebrating her 101st birthday, Ruth and Jesse had nine (9) children. Three daughters were still living at the time - Celia Primm (Mrs. J. M. Primm); Caroline ('Lina' - Mrs. William K. Dickens) and Sarah Hamilton (Mrs. Stephen Alexander Hamilton).
