That definitely fits. Thanks for the clarification. John Marchant, Jr. moved on to Smith County, Mississippi and has a wife named by some as Nancy Elizabeth with no maiden name which then could certainly be Betty Mills. His father, John Marchant, Sr. then fits too. John, Jr. had 3 children that I know of-James, John, and Nancy. Seems every Marchant family has at least 1 John in their family and usually many more. My husband's gr grandfather was John and his father was John Marchant. They were all fond of John, Jacob, Isaac and also a Bryant Marchant. John, Sr. sons Isaac and Jacob, stayed in Georgia-John, Jr. and Bryant moved to Mississippi. The ones who moved out of Georgia changed their name spelling to Merchant. I have had quite a time trying to convince my husband's family that the name was spelled Merchant and Marchant.

Do you have any Connal family names there at all. The only time I have seen our Isaac's wife called other than Rachel is from someone else whom I have never been able to contact. I have no clue where she got that.

Here is something else. My husbands gg grandfather Joseph Marchant married Mary Howard. Her father was Willis Howard from Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The Howards moved on to Georgia too. The families may have known each other in North Carolina.

Perhaps we can help each other. My e mail is mbmjlm22@aol.com if you want to contact me privately.
