article from the Gaffney Ledger, dated March 28, 1905. THROUGHOUT THE TARHEEL STATE Late Thursday afternoon there was a sick-bed marriage in the northern part of Durham county. MR. J.K. VAUGHN and MISS MYRTLE M. LATTA were the contracting parties. The wedding had been set for Wednesday afternoon and when the time arrived the bride-elect was sick. The two lovers did not postpone the wedding, so the vows were said while the bride was lying in bed. Rev. J.H.
