WALKER----PLEASE PLEASE HELP

I am in DESPERATE need of some help. I am searching for my great grandmothers family. this is what I know...
According to death certificate BETTY LOU WALKER was born Aug 25 1887 and died Dec 12 1942 in Bessemer City, NC
(informant was her son Naithan).
In 1905 she married ANDY PILKEY/PILKINGTON in Swain county, North Carolina. They had 9 children:ELSIE, JANIE, FRANK,JOHN NAITHAN,
ROY ODELL, JAKE FLOYD, GLADYS HAZEL,CHARLES EDWIN, and one Unknown.
According to her marriage certificate she was 18, from Robbinsville, NC, father's info blank and mother info as dead.
According to 1910 census of Swain co she was born in 1889-1890 in NC
1920 Swain shows born 1887 NC
1930 Gaston County shows 1893 TN.( I think this is def wrong because she would have only been 12 when she married)
(Also states that she was 16 at first marriage)
I have no luck finding her in 1900 census anywhere.
Her son Odell told me that she was 1/2 Cherokee, she has a brother named JOHN WALKER, He was 6 or 7 years older than her.
He had several sons, one of which moved to New Mexico and owned a cattle ranch there. I have no further information on him.
He says he thinks her parents died and she and John were raised by another family.
Her death certificate states that DAN SLULAR was her father and MISS WALKER as her mother. In finding Dan Shular, she is not listed
as being in his home or any evidence that he may have fathered two illigitimate children.
In speaking to older people from Swain co, they stated that her mother was an Indian woman who lived in Bushnell, North Carolina but did not know anything else.
In her Bible, I found a paper stating that
Miss N.A. Walker died Nov 29 1911 she was 33 yrs old
(I found Nancy Walker born Dec 30 1878-Dec 28,1911 in Gunter Cem in Graham County)
ETHEL WALKER born Feb 1900
GEORGE WALKER born Mar 1900
LAWRENCE WALKER born Jan 1905
ELSIE WALKER born Mar 26 1909
I have verified all these people as being related to her. Lawrence and George are listed as nephews to her in 1920 Swain Co census
ETHEL WALKER married WILLIAM A CABLE. Her death cert states her mother as NANCY WALKER and father as JOHN WALKER.
I'm wondering if John is the brother to Betty or Nancy is the sister to Betty?? and married a Walker herself???
(my reasoning is that Nancy was born in Tn according to 1900 Graham co census and Betty being born in Tn according to 1930 census
and nothing was said about John in her Bible)
I have NO idea where in Tn she could have been born, IF that is even true, I have checked Blount, but with no luck so far.
I have been trying for many years to find this family. I'm wondering if I'm not over thinking this all and over looking something obvious.
if Anyone could possibly help me I would be eternally grateful, as I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown trying to find her.
