I am looking for general background and the specific birthplace of Elihu Clinton Crisp. He was born in Laurens CO, SC in 1801. He later moved to Bolivar, TN, where I believe that he was a prominent politician. My grgrandfather was born in Bolivar in 1836 and he was named Elihu Crisp Edwards. I believe that his father, Jacob Edwards, was born in 1801, maybe in Laurens CO, SC. I'm trying to determine the connection between Jacob Edwards and Elihu Crisp and, hopefully, the birthplace of Jacob. Any help would be appreciated.
