James, did Angeline have a sister named Delilah Thomas. My gggrandmother was supposedly the daughter of a full-blood Cherokee woman and William Thomas, a highly respected man among the Cherokee.

Delilah (? spelling) supposedly married a man of whom her parents did not approve; therefore, they anulled her marriage before knowing that she was pregnant with a son whom she named Robert Ethelred Thomas because of the anullment.

Later, in the mid 1840's, she married my gggrandfather, John Henry Dennis, and they moved to Texas. Delilah is buried in the Coker Cemetery in Cooke Co., Texas.

Supposedly, Delilah was born in the area of TN known as Reel Foot Lake, far northwest corner of TN. Because of rising water, Delilah and her family had to walk out to safety. Delilah remembered raging waters up to her waist as a cousin recalls.

In short, we don't know much about Delilah. I want to know if Col. William Thomas was her father and who her mother was.
