In the book Confederate Colonel Cherokee Chief: The Life of William Holland Thomas, it mentions his adopting a Cherokee Indian girl named Angeline. However, no mention is made of Angeline's mother or of William's marriage to a Cherokee maiden.

While reading the book, I wondered if Will was married to a Cherokee woman, simply because of his adopting Angeline. Seems like I remember something about his adopting a Cherokee boy, too, but cannot remember the boy's name.

Have you tried the Cherokee Nation Query Board, First People of Tennessee? It is an excellent site. Maybe its administrator can help you. Go to Yahoo and type http://www.tngenweb.org/tnfirst/webbbs/cherokeequeries/index.cgi. It is exclusively a query board, and it isn't just for Tennessee.
