The estate papers I just ordered from the archives are for Jacob Holston in Granville County are dated 1811. Now, I find this on line, and I never saw it before:

Deed Book V
Granville County, North Carolina
1810-1812

p. 137 Nicholas Holston of Stokes, Co, NC sold land in Granville Co which was willed to him by his father, Jacob Holston, decd., November 30, 1810

------------------------------

I have been seeking to prove that the Jacob Holstein/Holston who died in 1794 in Granville County, NC was the father of my Nicholas Holston who moved to Kentucky (got married in 1812) then moved to Floyd County, Indiana and lived as a farmer. I have had no proof, only a strong suspicion of it. Since Jacob had a father Nicholas Holstein who died in 1774, I felt he might have named a son after him. Now I find the above reference from a deed book showing that Jacob did have a son Nicholas who did sell his land as I had long suspected that he enherited.

Once I receive the estate papers, and order this record from the deed book, I will have what I have been looking for! Absolutely amazing!
