Ebeneazer Baptist Cemetery, Hendersonville, North Carolina

Over the last weekend, I went up to Hendersonville and then to Asheville. On my way in, I stopped by the Ebeneazer Cemetery to take some pictures of the grave stones for John Peter and his son Silas. It saddens me to see the original stones in such condition. The DAR stone for JPC is in fine shape, but on the original, the top third is unreadable. In addition, the stone for Silas is broken into three pieces. They are still there, but deteriorating.

First: does anyone have a transcription or picture of JPC's, Silas' or any of the other Corn family original stones?

Second: would anyone be interested in a stone restoration project with me to either fix or replace the Corn stones?

I don’t want to upset anyone, but I feel that our ancestors deserve to have their resting places marked so that future visitors/relatives can find them and pay homage to those that have gone before.

Thankx
Michael Edwards
