In the book Hyde County North Carolina: County Court Minutes 1736-1756 Book 1, there is this entry from p. 7 of the Court Docket Book:
INSAUL vs. FLEMING, Concerning tresspass on ye. Case. The action taken was that the case was continued. Then it appears that there was a judgment for the debt and cost, and also "Order agst. ye. Marshl. & attachmt." This action was recorded in the March Court 1736/37.

FLEMING appears to have been prominent in Hyde Co. at that time, with many suits bearing his name either as defendant or plaintiff. But who was ___ ENSAUL? Do any other Hyde Co. records mention that name? Could it have been another spelling of INSALL, INSULL or ENSELL? Or possibly a corruption of the surname ENSOR or ENZOR? It is noted that in the following year (8 April 1738), there was a John ENZOR who married Anne EDEL (or EDIL), both of Cape Fear, NC.
