Gibbs, as you probably know, is a very common name in Hyde County. Do you have any idea of the line after your Joseph Gibbs? I have a Joseph Gibbs who, with Esther Morgan, was my ggggg-grandparent. They would be to old for your census report, however. He was born in 1750, and I don't know that he had any sons named Joseph.
