DEar list,
I am trying to locate a John Robert Raley born abt 1787 NC &
Catherine Rossiter born abt 1796 MD. My guess is that The raleys were born in MD as well. I don't know where. John & Catherine were married. They had a son, James born abt 1819 OH or IN. They had four sons, John abt 1821, William abt 1825, Vesta Ann who married Davis Foster, Sanford, & Marion born IN. John, Catherine, Sanford, Marion Vesta Ann & Davis left Clay Co, IL, abt 1850 for parts west and settled in Linn Co, KS.
There was a James Raley in the 1840 of Clay Co, IL. I have
never found him since. He did not have a wife He had two sons and a daughter. I would guess that this John's brother from NC.
