I am researching my grandmother's family. She was Nancy Letha Blake b July 13, 1913 in Swan Quarter. Her mother died in childbirth with her. She was raised by Aunt Polly and Uncle John. Her father was George Allen Blake. Her mother was Nancy/Nannie Cahoon d. July 13, 1913. They married August 31, 1901. They had 6 children

After Nancy/Nannie died George married Beulah Gaskins. My grandfather was in the navy and married my grandmother somewhere on the coast either in NC or VA. His name was Martin Vernon Black.
We run into trouble with my great-grandmother Nancy. We beleive her father was William A. Cahoon and her mother was Bettie. She had at least 4 brothers and sisters:
William P Cahoon
Mary J. Cahoon
Joseph C Cahoon
Charles L Cahoon.
