Just posted this on McKee Board but wanted to also post here:

8:416 5 Aug 1777 MARGARET MCKEE TO WILLIAM MCKEE for 100 (POUNDS) 240 A on Fourth Creek, part of a tract granted by Granville to ROBERT ALLISON 25 Mar 1752 and sold to her 15 Jan 1760. William Simonton, William Duffey, Prvd Aug Court 1777.
9:491. 4 Aug 1777 MARY MCKIE TO ALEXANDER MCKIE for 100 (pounds) 240 A on Fourth Creek, part of tract granted by Granville to ROBERT ALLISON 25 Mar 1752, sold to MARY MCKIE 15 ........1760 ADJ ROBERT SIMONTON, John Knox, Alex Reed, Prvd Aug Court 1784
These are obviously the same Margaret and/or Mary McKee / McKie within one day of each other to William McKee one day and Alexander McKie / McKee the day before that.
One document reported above as being proven 1777 and the other 1784
This is the Margaret McKee who is claimed as the wife of James McKee of Derry Township, Lancaster Co PA who are said to be the parents of William McKee of Iredell Co NC who was married to Mary McHenry.
A rootsweb search / usgenwebarchives / PA / Lancaster County for surname McKee shows:
JAMES MCKEE, Derry Twp
August 19, 1757 November 9 1762
Wife: Margaret McKee
Children: Robert, James and Samuel
EX: Margaret and Robert McKee
The listed children ROBERT, JAMES, SAMUEL on James McKee LW&T at Lancaster Co PA are completely different than the ALEXANDER and WILLIAM first listed above as Margaret / Mary deeding land to a few years later in NC.
I am trying to figure out which of the above is the correct version.
Has anyone actually seen the LW&T of the above listed James McKee who died at Lancaster Co PA 1762 or the LW&T of Margaret McKee who died in the 1790's at Iredell Co NC?
Please post any help here - thanks.
